The latest Comic Strip from Pulling Together Group.

Funding from Media Box enabled Pulling Together to work with professional media artist, Sue Reddish to film a series of intergenerational stories.

Through Their Past Our Future project the young women learnt how to project manage, create story boards, gain skills in creative writing, learn filming, editing and screening.

The end of project celebration of Their Past Our Future Films took place on Friday 16th July 2010.
The 4 short films were created by the young women over a number of weeks using a number of techniques in video and animation. Music for the films was especially composed by freelance musician based in Stretford, Carol Donaldson.

This is a compilation of four films:

The individual films are:

• British Soldiers and Robert the Bruce
• Travelling by Ship to South Africa
• Horse Riding without Permission
• A Foreign National in Kuwait

Using the Health & Well-being theme, Pulling Together group secured a small amout of funding in October 2009 from Voluntary Arts England to put together comic strips looking at healthy eating and exercise.  Click on the images below to read:

We were very fortunate that we were amongst the few successful Northwest groups who were successful in securing Community Development Foundation’s - Faith’s in Action grant to deliver a Faiths & Festivals Project. More information will be posted in March.

Some members of PT took part in Race for Life in June 2009.

Pulling Together Group designed three  banners for the Manchester Mela at Platt Fields Park, 25th & 26th July 2009.

Pulling Together has been successful in receiving funding from:

• Greater Manchester Police Authority’s “Police Property Act Fund”
• The John Grant Davies Trust
• Neighbourhood Learning Deprived Communities Capital Fund
• The Community Foundation for Greater Manchester’s “Grass Roots” Funding
• From April 2010 - March 2011 The Community Development Foundation’s “Faiths in Action” funding will be used to deliver a 35-week faith project
